Dedicated to providing the best child care and early childhood education.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is that play is learning. Through play, children achieve social and emotional development. Children learn social development by sharing, negotiating, taking turns and compromising. When children interact with one another, in a stimulating environment that is child directed, they learn to form and value friendships, which helps develop their emotional and social well-being. I provide guidance in promoting these developmental skills in each child, so they can gain self-control and take responsibility of their behaviors. When communicating with the children, I maintain a positive attitude while being reliable and respectful to meet each child's needs.

ON SITE

I have a large 1/4 acre backyard, completely fenced in, that has trees, grass, a sky fort, playground with sandbox, merry go-roud, seesaw, play house, toddler swing and slide. The front yard has a basketball hoop and plenty of space for ride on toys.

I am in the process of becoming certified as a Nature Explore Classroom. This includes an open area for developing large motor skils, climbing area, messy materials area with 3 sinks for messy play, building with natural wood area, nature art area, music and movement area, garden and planting area, gathering and storage area, a water table, and a balancing beam made out of a tree.

We participate in funsical fitness every week and farm animals visit the child care once a month.

I own a 1998 Ford Expedition that we regularly use for field trips. The vehicle has capacity for 7 children.

In addition to emergent and play-based curriculum, I frequently take children on field trips to learn more about the world.
